Could anyone please comment on the identification of this species. I assume Udara dilecta. Photographed at 1,000 metres on Khao Soi Dao, southeast Thailand.

Udara placidula howarthi.

The Udara with complete submarginal spots (the Vs or wavy line) comprises two group.

In U. dilecta/rona the HW postdiscal spot 7 is not darker than the other spots.
U. dilecta.

In iU, placdula/cyma HW postdiscal spot 7 is larger & much darker (black) than the others.

U. cyma HW postdiscal spots closer, more in line ie aligned end to end (spots 3 ,4 ,& 5 (variable))except for spot 2 which is shifted in ; Range Sundaland, rare.
Correction: Previous image is that of Callenya melaena. which has strong markings & HW spot 7 very large.

U. placidula HW postdiscal spots more out of line . spot 4 not aligned with spot 3 & 5; Range Oriental tropics. common.

Celastrina lavendularis limbata.

There is a bit of a white dot just visible on the antennal tip which indicates it is Celastrina.

TL Seow: Cheers.

PS. Actually Udara also have a white spot at the tip although it appears faint.
The markings of C. lavendularis are heavier & the ground colour darker grey .
Compare this with Udara placidula below.

Many of the genera have similar markings on the underside.
