A. amphimuta has the HW spot 1b with equal arms. (Upperside all blue HW confirmed the ID here.)Singapore.

In Langakawi two other species of the amphinuta group are very similar.
THe HW has a more prominent white spot at the tornal cilia, but this is often obscured.

A. norda ronda. HW spot 1b narrow V. Thailand.

Dear Dr Seow, Arhopala Major Major is yet to be listed in Langkawi Butterfly List (Dr Kirton), could it be Arhopala amphimuta milleriana instead? Thanks!

Yes it should be A. amph.imuta.
The two can be very similar as discussed in the past.
Confirmed A. amphimuta.

More typical A. major where the upper arm of the V spot is very short.

TL Seow: Cheers.
PS. A useful feature is that in A. major The HW postdiscal band from vein 2 to vein 6 (after the V spot) is always strongly dislocated in the middle at vein 4.
In A. amphimuta it is usually more or less in line, but occassionally broken as in A. major as shown by the male from Krabi Thailand.

A. ariana have HW spot 7 directly on top of spot 6; FW with costal spots 10 & 11.
