A short trip to Ranong, port and border Town along the Andaman coast and famous butterfly destination. Our main target was the uncommon and elusive Atrophaneura sycorax, seen just few days before. Saw as few but managed just a poor shot of a great female.

Post 1 no. 7.

Male Quedara monteithi.
Quedara have very bulging labial palps (palpi 2nd segment).

Ge geta have rounded labial palps & antennae with a paler tip.

Hyarotis iadera have obscure dark shadings as in H. microsticta.; labial palps are rounded.

Koruthaialos butleri is so similar to no. 7 that it seem impossible to tell.

However the palpi 3rd segment is visible as a conical knob in K. butleri whereas it is practically invisible in Q. monteithi.

Q. monteithi ,Singapore where K. butleri is absent.
