Last Sunday I went to a location across DFNP to explore for the first time..managed to see a decent variety of butterflies. Some of those I encountered were the Dark Flat, Hieroglyphic Flat, Horsfield's Baron and Archduke. There was also a Painted Jezebel resting on a branch in the understorey..great chance, but have to work on my hand stability

I managed to get a shot of the Horsfield's Baron, it was at an opening along the trail and showed its territorial behaviour on multiple occasions, chasing any butterfly that flew near it. My dad and me waited around for more than an hour but it only came out of the bushes a few times, and most of the time there was not enough time to even get into the position to shoot it.

I managed to get a few closeup shots during the 1-2 times that it came out and stayed there. Any tips on how to get the actual colour of the hindwing blue band? It always ends up lighter than it should..

2. It does appear to be P. omaha since the veins are darkened.
What is unusual is that on the right HW spot 6 (2nd square spot) is rather large.

TL Seow: Cheers.
