Blue Jay

I went for a walk on Sunday and encountered many Bluebottles, Lesser Jays and also 2 Tailed Jays. Huge pity that I did not bring my camera along with me as there were a few great opportunities to photograph the Bluebottle and Lesser Jay, and a glorious chance for the Tailed Jay as there was one that was just resting for a long time on a fern beside the trail.
It was quite surprising for me that in just one trip I've encountered so many Graphiums, and not just that, it was so many individuals of 3 of the species also. It's great to see the butterfly activity in Singapore improving a lot over the last few weeks after a few years of inactivity, and this trip is even more encouraging. :grin2:
Also, I noticed in the last few years that the Common Faun population has declined a lot. When I started shooting butterflies it was everywhere in the forests, then it started declining in the next few years and I hardly, if ever, saw it. I finally managed to see a pair of them chasing each other yesterday, hopefully now their population returns to how it was before.
I haven't been shooting for very long so some of my observations may be wrong, but I'm very happy to see the butterfly activity on the up again :)
I'm quite disappointed though that this forum has become very quiet and inactive...it's a very good platform for sharing of butterfly knowledge and photos, and also as a place where such things of our group are collected and it becomes a repository of everything that has been shared and posted here.
Anyways, I took some shots of the Bluebottle with my phone. I'm quite satisfied with the quality of it considering it came from a phone camera ;P
