Dear Seow sir,
Things becomes more interesting for us right now...as my dear friend Ngangom Aomoa and me possibly photographed more Pantoporia sandaka than Pantoporia hordonia in Meghalaya...
Here some more images to share...
I just want to confirm whether they are Pantoporia sandaka??

No.1
23853

No.2
23854

No.3
23855

No.4
23856

All of them are from Meghalaya, India

Thanks in advance
Atanu Bora: Cheers:)

1. female dsf Pantoporia hordonia.
The female of both species have the foot of the FW postdiscal band, that runs along the FW lower margin short.

The females of the two species can be very similar & difficult to separate.
Note the grey line is constricted but large & separates the orange line & band well.
Compare the female sandaka below in which the grey line within the black is almost obsolete.

2. P. sandaka male normal form. Note grey line reduced to a few tiny streaks.

3. P. sandaka male dsf. Wider orange markings ; extra line along the margin.

4. P. hordonia male dsf. Extra marginal orange; Note grey line wide . The foot is long but in India the foot is variable.

In Malaya the foot is larger & longer in P. sandaka than in hordonia, but this difference is not applicable in India.

Post 4. You can see in your area, some examples can get confusing.

5. Provisional ID .dsf P. hordonia hordonia.
The grey line although broken still separates the orange line & band well.
The FW foot of the postdiscal band is very long here & this suggest sandaka.
In India as the form progress towards dsf ,the foot gets longer & the grey line is squeezed by the exrensive orange.

confirmed dsf hordonia.

Female normal wsf India.

In Taiwan where there is only P. hordonia, the foot is always long.

In P. sandaka davidsoni, the black area between line & band is always very narrow, flat ,& the grey line very poor in both wsf & dsf.
Female sandaka.

P. sandaka sandaka in Sundaland is rather different as the orange band is narrow , the grey line is continuous.
Males from Malaya (1) & Singapore(2) Note white edging on HW show the edge of the white speculum.

A typical P. hordonia hordonia ,Malaya for comparison.

No 6. This is obviously P. sandaka. line & bands touched & black space very restricted .HW white flash denotes speculum.

This is probably helpful.

If upper margin of the cell-bar in a male have two strong notches it is likely to be P. hordonia.
P. sandaka may sometimes have 2 notches but usually weakly so.
