Just a few from a recent trip to Betong.

1) Taraka mahanetra (Lesser Pierrot) - A great rarity in Thailand.
2) Arhopala kinabala (Golden-Spotted Oakblue)
3) Artogeia canidia canidia (Indian Cabbage White) - The question here is what is it doing in Yala? The nearest colonies I know of are in Singapore and Northern Thailand!

Halpe ormenes is daker brown with a whiter band which at the lowwer end is angled outwards towards the tornus.
Singapore.

Ypthima pandocus is also found in the highlands.
The only other possibility Y. watsoni is smaller with even striation giving it a cleaner look.

The Jamides is J. alecto from the Y-shaped striae at the bottom of the hindwing.

I don't think that's Pratapa icetoides calculis; the yellow tornal area only touches one of the black tornal spots in icetoides whereas this specimen has the yellow tornal area in contact with both of the black spots.
Also, the bluish eyes make me suspect a Tajuria. Superficially, it resembles Tajuria ister tussis but it seems like it's not recorded from Thailand.

Agreed it is J. alecto. From J. elpis by its thicker white FW steriae.
The HW spike is common to most Jamides.

Tajuria ister tussis is right. Range N. India to Neomalaya. Recorded in Thailand.
Good observation on the different eye colour, but Tajuria species have different eye colour.
Also right in that the orange is spreadout (in ssp tussis.)
In P. icetoides calculis the orange is mainly around the 2nd black spot in space 2.

Thanks for the ID. Ther was a discussion the past months about the ID of the Tajuria with a couple of friends, maybe just my mistake...

Several Betong species are new record for Thailand, so that shouldn't be a big issue.

3. Polytremis lubricans.

4. Cynitia /Tanaecia flora .Note dark blue FW spot.

Both C. flora & godartii have FW inner margin of blue band straight & even; HW band tapers upwards strongly.
C. iapis/ cocytina have FW band's inner margin irregular & HW band relatively broad upwards.

C iapis/cocytina .Some authors cosidered Javanese taxon iapis too diffrent (white narrow band).

I am aware of that.
I would tend to agree with Yutaka.
There are just too many unnecessary subspecies.

E.midamus similarly have examples with & without blue-shot FWs in Malaya.
So too I believed E. modesta.
