A couple of skippers which are difficult to id with certainty, and for which I need help.

I THINK they are of Scobura cephela and Halpe zema zema, but there are other possibilities.

1. Should be Scobura isota.
S. cephala has an extra white spot in HW space 1b, hence its common name.

2. Should be Halpe zema zamba.
The difficulty is separating H. zema & zola.

Since H. zola is not found in India this is correctly H. zema zema . it has narrower band.

H. zema zamba, Malaya.

H. zola is found in south Myanmar to Thailand & eastwards.
The minor clue given is HW band in space 1b usually narrow & not angled towards the tornus.
This one from Phuket would be typical.

Correction: The minor clue was in the key of Halpe for H. zola in C&P3 (H. zinda not mentioned) but this was amended to that of H. zinda with the added statement that H zola & zema are inseparable, in C&P4.
This means that the Phuket Halpe is probably Halpe zinda.

TL Seow : Cheers.
PS. Another Phuket H. zola which may be the correct one.

Thank you. Regarding the Scobura, I had misunderstood the spot in 1b to be on the forewing, not the hindwing. Now clear.

As far as Halpe zema is concerned, both Pisuth and Kimura both only give H. zema zema from N, Thailand, not H. zema zamba.

I am not sure of the difference between ssp. zema & zamba.
Yutaka made no mention of ssp zamba in Thailand.

In any case it could also possibly be H. zola.

(H. zola is absent from Malaya, so the Malayan (Selangor) pix by Kurt is definitely H. zema zamba.)

TL Seow: Cheers.

PS. This could actually be Halpe zinda, which would be new to Thailand.
The lower part of the band in space 1b is straight especially on the inner margin & not bent outwards towards the tornus as in all examples of H. zema.
