It was a slow start in 2015. Very few shots taken in the first three weeks. Here are some selected sightings.
1. The Dark Brand Bush Brown (Mycalesis mineus macromalayana)
2. Nacaduba calauria malayica??
3. Arhopala major major
4. Banana Skipper (Erionota thrax thrax)
5. Caltoris cormasa

1. Mycalesis perseoides perseoides.
The peripheral white striae are broad; inner margin of HW ocelli very irregular; dark discal line with tooth at vein 1b.
M. mineus pair.
Note inner margin of HW ocelli regular with deepest indentation at upper part; dark line without a tooth at vein 1b.

2. More likely to be female N. berenice icena.
(I ' ll leave these until we have a proper series of N. calauria to match.)

3. Arhopala epimuta epiala .Note tornal white spot.

In A. major, HW postdiscal spots 5, 6, & 7 are differently shaped & lined away from the cellend bar.

4. Female Erionota hiraca apicalis.worn
In E. hiraca. the HW band is much narrowed in the upper half; FW white apical tip cut across to termen side.

In both E. thrax & torus the HW band is relatively broad throughout :FW apical white patch remains on costal side.

Just came back from a long trek from Bt Panjang to USR - very disappointing in terms of butterfly sighting !!
TEG has a lot more buttes. Here are some shots taken a few weeks ago.
1. Common Tiger (Danaus genutia genutia)
2. Copper Flash (Rapala pheretima sequeira)
3. Slate Flash (Rapala manea chozeba)
4. Besta Palm Dart (Telicota besta bina) ??

3. Rapala pheretima female.
Only pheretima here lacks the orange ring. The female often lacks the FW cellspot.

4. T. besta female is right.
Note the greenish tinge on the underside.

2. Which Potanthus sp ?
3. Painted Jezebel (Delias hyparete metarete)

2. Caltoris cormasa; pale antennal patch;deep rusty-redbrown HW; FW shape indicates female.

5 & 6. female Caltoris philippina.
FW without cellspot, termen excavated (cut-in); nos of spots as phipippina; underside ochreous, hint of green hair.

Post 10.

1. Telicota besta male.
Despite the deep orange colour (it should be orange-yellow), the HW underside have the veins lightly dark-dusted.

Pix 1b shos the orange dash at the base of space 2 indicating augias, besta (or colon)
FW spot 3 & 4 with small overlap.
Black area between spots 2 & 3 and the cell orange wide.

T. augias ;veins not darkdusted; wide overlap of FW spots 3 & 4; black between spots 2/3 & cell-orange narrow.

T. besta.

4. female Borbo cinnara.
HW main big spots are spot 2, 3, & 6, with smalll spots 4 & 5 in between.
Some greenish hair & underside ochreous overlay.

In Parnara main spots are 2, 3, & 4. the rest absent or small; no greenish hair.
