I arrived in Chiang Mai e few days in advance of the main party, and took the time to visit Doi Suthep and Mae Jo.

Doi Suthep-Pui: Rather disappointing in early October!
LD1 - Aeromachus dubius impha - Forest Scrub Hopper
LD2 - Pelopidas conjunctus conjunctus - Conjoined Swift?
LD3 - Dodona egeon egeon - Orange Punch
LD4 - Abisara sp. (can not make my mind up about this one.)

Mae Jo" Last time, this area proved amazingly productive, particularly for Theclini. Unfortunately, the area around the pond has been cut down and nothing was there. However, I was shown to paths nearby which were known for some species not generally found elsewhere in Thailand.

LD5 - Arnetta atkinsoni - Atkinson's Bob (w.s.f - 2nd photo is a female)
LD6 - Ampittia maroides - Banded Bush Hopper (please note that Pisuth has the males of the 2 Ampittia species the wrong way round!)
LD7 - Ypthima sp. I believe I was told it was Ypthima savara savara (Pallid Fivering) but I forgot to make a note of it!
LD8 - Mycalesis annamatica annamatica (Annam Bushbrown)
LD9 - Abisara abnormis (Abnormal Judy) - or so I was told!

LD 7.
Y. savara looks correct.

LD 9.
A. abnormis is correct.

LD 11.
Probably right.

TL Seow :Cheers.
PS. LD2 The upperside is that of a female P. lubricans though the underside appeared too dark & the FWs too sharp.

LD2 .
I can't see the wingshape as distorted, & the underside is quite dark. Two cellspots.

It should be Caltoris tenuis (tenuis = thin, slender.)

The skipper is a good match for Halpe filda which is new to Thailand.

From Facebook from Saito Motoki san.

Saito Motoki (https://www.facebook.com/saito.motoki?fref=ufi) To me, it seems Halpe homolea Hewitson, 1868. This group is very difficult. Need to check the genitalia for further confirmation.

Sunny Chir (https://www.facebook.com/sunny.chir.1?fref=ufi) Thank You Saito Motoki (https://www.facebook.com/saito.motoki) san for the input, I could be wrong, Halpe homolea Hewitson 1868 is not in Thailand's list too !

This warrant further investigation !

I did some checking & it does look good for Halpe filda.

Great job getting the upperside, Sunny.
Salient points.

1. FW cell with no spots .
2. Cilia strongly chequered.
3. HW discal band not particularly well-defined.

There are hardly any species that will match all 3 criteria especially 1 & 2.

Halpe arcuata :FW no cellspot ;cilia not chequered. There are good images.
http://nhuodd.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/e0b888e0b8b8e0b894e0b980e0b8abe0b8a5e0b8b5e0b988e0 b8a2e0b8a1e0b88be0b989e0b8ade0b8991.jpg?w=980
http://old.hkls.org/fieldtr/ChiangMai06/_W3F9480%20copy.jpg

Halpe handa ( initially as H. homolea handa )
No cell spot; cilia chequered; HW underside without a band, but elliptical dark spots.
http://www.insect-fans.com/bbs/data/attachment/forum/ipb/post-2-1105257629.jpg

Halpe homolea. Indian Ace , not uncommon in India.
FW with a cellspot.; cilia chequered. HW band yellow or yellowish-white clearly -defined outer margin (C&P3)

This leaves Halpe filda (formerly H. homolea filda.)

A reply from Khun Prasobsuk Sukkit and Yutaka Inayoshi san

Prasobsuk Sukkit (https://www.facebook.com/prasobsuk.sukkit?fref=ufi) First of all Genus Halpe needs specimens and checking Genitalia. From what I learn by specialist.

Because study this photo to 5 specimens of the same species with Mr.Inayoshi from various places in Thailand it is hard to say it is H.filda. He said a specimen is needed.
