In looking for pix of Parnara apostata I came across pix of a female Potanthus mingo taken in Pulau Semakau 2009.
Note female. FW apex pointed & termen bowed. Correction : Male.
FW spots strongly notched on the outer margins resembling P. trachala.
HW band outer margin strongly excavated & edged with black.
Its shape give rise to the name of Zigzag Banded Dart in Thailand.

Thanks for informing me, Brian.
I had open too many windows & got them mixed-up.
My apology to Jonathan too.

The Semakau shot is that of a male P. mingo.
The wings appeared rounded because of the perspective distortion.
On the upperside the broadly orange FW cell & costa indicate it is a male.

Here is another record from Jurong.
This pair is not so dark.
The male on the left have the same HW discal dark shading ; the band is sharply cut on the inner margin at vein 4 & excavated on the outer margin.
The female on the right is not so easy to separate from other females.

It is something I have thought from the start but thought it so very unlikely.
Potanthus flavus is a mountain species in Malaya & is at the southernmost of its range. It is not found in the surrounding Sunda islands.

The deeply notched FW spots suggest this species.
If it turns out to be P. flavus it must be quite remarkable.

P. flavus ssp. flavus from Japan.
