I fully understand. That is why I, myself, have only been out twice this year on Samui, and both times were a complete waste of my time! Female Courtesans are flying regularly past my window at home, but that is all.

Nice to see you have found the Rachana again.

Arhopala aida aida.
Note slatey glaze & FW termen(outer margin) rather straight.

Les, I've lost: Onyx, one of the two of the island; Grand Imperial 2; a Coeliadinae; an Aberrant Oakblue; a Flos; few more (common) Arhopalas and something more.

Just in the shadow of the forest. In the sun is completely empty and dry. And all between 10 and 11.30.

Post 5.

No. 1. I think this is a Deramas livens female.
C&P4 states the cilia of D. jasoda is fuscous (dark) & Fleming clearly states cilia not chequered.

The HW cilia here is chequered, the same as No. 3 the D. nolens male.

The D. livens female have the orange poor & may be obsolete as here below.

TL Seow:cheers:
PS. The female D. jasoda here have the following.
1. HW margin not chequered.
2. The submarginal spots rounded & rather poor or obscure.
3. The FW postdiscal band is straighter. (variable & so invalid.)

Post 8. Arhopala atosia.
HW postdiscal spot 7 in atosia/lurida often varies in position, here above spot 6, causing spot 5, 6, & 7 to be out of line.
This led to confusion as line 95 to line 100 then leads to line 101 or 120, both dead ends.
The green metalmark in these two sp. is distinctive, well-demarcated with more prominent black spots.
A. atosia is lighter, & have HW postdiscal spots 4 & 5 almost fully dislocated.

TL Seow : Cheers.

Today I met again an old friend, the Gray Tnisel. Skittish and fast, just got a not so good shot.

Plus another sighting of the rare and elusive Giant Imperial (Purlisa gigantea)
If the weather keep I'll be back again tomorrow (25 Sept.) to try to find both butterflies

An old shot of the Giant Imperial
