I encountered this in Mandai earlier today.

What struck me was the 'whiteness' of it. Is this a female Malay Baron?

It is an aberrant female Malay Baron.

The fuzzy (indistinct) inner margin of FW spot 1b excludes Tanaecia pelea/palguna.

The female of Euthalia kanda is very similar but have the FW cellend area white as well.

Ahh so.

Thanks Uncle Seow for the clarification!!:grin2:
These Euthalia butterflies seem to be very variable, both in males and in females.
