Zizeeria karsandra the Dark Grass Blue is found all the way from eastern Europe to Australia.
C&P4 states it is of sporadic occurence & most often seen in Kedawi & Singapore.

It is easily confused with the now established Z. maha serica.

The most consistent difference between the two species is the post discal spots on the forewing.

Z. maha serica. Postdiscal spot 6 (topmost) detached & dislocated (shifted in); postdiscal spots all rounded; submarginal spots often dark; HW 3 sub-basal spots out of line.

Z. karsandra. Postdiscal spot 6 (topmost) close to spot 5 in an arc; postdiscal spot 4 often oblong; submarginal spots always pale; HW 3 sub-basal spots in line.

Examples of local Z. maha serica. Note the position of postdiscal spot 6 (topmost).

LC's shot of Z. karsandra from Malaya is what is expected in Singapore.

This is typical Z. maha serica. Note the 3 sub-basal spots on the HW are also out of line.

Interesting. We have both species in Malaysia.
