Dr. Seow ,

Someone ask for help in identifying these 6 Line Blue and wonder if they are The Opaque Sixline Blue ( Nacaduba beroe neon )

I think all three are Rounded 6 Line Blue ( Nacaduba berenice icena ).

Your assistance in differentiating the Nacaduba beroe neon from N. berenice icena will be much appreciated !

All 3 are typical Nacaduba berenice.

The male N. beroe differs in the following features.
1. FW termen (outer margin) straight. (variable in berenice)
2, FW lower 3 submarginal spots rectangular often with flared corners.
3. FW postdiscal band's dark line reduced & vestigial or obsolete.(always strongly present in berenice; like between N. sanaya & N. pavana.)
4. HW base darkened like the male Pointed Lineblue (Ionolyce helicon), & so sometimes confused with it.

This male looks correct although it is probably not quite typical.

Here is a better male beroe misID'ed as a Pointed Lineblue.

Correction: This is a kurava male. (kurava male may also have the dark line less prominent.)

Two other examples of N. beroe males that have been ID'ed as Ionolyce helicon.
