Encountered 2 more today, and with slightly better backgrounds. i had one land on a leaf, but i find the green background a little unnatural for this species. as such, my quest for a clean, but brown background continues...

i remembered loke posted an elbowed pierrot with an electric blue wing border before. i found one today with also a similar characteristic. however this shot was taken without flash, and so the blue wasn't reflected. but you can see it quite faintly here.

this was my first time seeing a branded imperial sunning. i had no idea there were those blue dashes present on the forewing. all this time i thought it was just black.

Hi Minutemaid.
Thanks for capturing these beauties. One question - in Singapore?

Fleming actually recorded all three species, T. klugius, noureddin & odana in Singapore, but it seem the last 2 are lost.

The males especially are readily identifiable on the wing, noureddin blackish brown, Klugius deep dark blue & odana bright blue (close to the Blue Pansy).
