1 & 2 Caltoris malaya male.
Forewing with no cell spot; hindwing rusty-brown.

3. Cephrenes trichopepla female.
Hindwing band with black mark at upper end; forewing spot 4 & 5 narrow & long horizontally.

4. Probably male Telicota ohara.
Hindwing veins not darkened. T. augias can be ruled out (forewing spots with broad overlap; hindwing band very poorly contrasted with ground)
So either male T ohara or T linna.
Dark shading especially of inner half of hindwing suggest T. ohara.
(Correction: This is probably T. linna male.
'Dark shading' too vaque on both wings . )

5. Female Telicota colon.
Easily identifiable by the oddly shaped forewing spots.

6. Female Telicota besta or T. augias.
It is not possible to deduce the correct colour of the hindwing as it is.
The female besta is yellower with a green tinge.

7. The spotting & the darkened hindwing veins indicate it is Potanthus omaha.

8. Female Telicota linna.
Despite being worn, the hindwing veins are easily noted to be not darkened.
The only Telicota female here in which the hindwing veins are not darkened.
Wingshape & whitish abdomen indicate female.

9. Female Jamides celeno.

Thanks for the help, Dr Seow! I only managed to ID Potanthus omaha, Telicota colon & Jamides celeno correctly... so much more to learn from you!

Gurus, has Telicota linna been recorded from Singapore before? I got this at Butterfly Hill.

T. linna is not in the old Singapore record, but have been shot before.
While the female probably can be ID'ed with some confidence, the male is very difficult at the moment.

4. Although not sharp, the veins across the hindwing band are clearly darkened.
It is a Telicota besta male.

6. Telicota besta female.
There is a hint of the greenish tinge to the ground colour.

TL Seow:cheers:
PS. The 5 male Telicotas for reference.

1. Telicota colon .Note forewing spots staggered, deeply notched & distorted; hindwing veins usually lightly darkened.

2. Telicota augias. Hw veins across band not darkened; ground colour bright orangey without the dark tint of the other spp., so band is poorly contrasted.

Validated image (from Malaya) Note HW band may be poorly defined as here.

3. Telicota linna (validated image) Veins not darkened; band contrasted; normal colour is ochreous-yellow as here.

4. Telicota ohara. HW veins not darkened; ground colour with a lot more blackish shadings on FW & around the HW band.
