Was organising my folders when I came across this fella that I shot some time back at the Penang Butterfly Farm. Somehow, the scalloped submarginal thin white line seems to be different from all the other "normal" Palm Kings that we've seen.

Seow, any idea what this is? Or it's just a variation?

It is a female Amathusia phidippus.

The scalloped margin is some minor variation.

Usually in this species the discal or median dark brown band is narrower than the paler postdiscal band (or about equal).

The hindwing subdiscal pale brownish band (to the inside of the median band) is characteristically flared at the top & hardly notched by the passing veins.
It is almost always wider than dark band inner to it.
