Went for a morning jog below my home and while crossing an overhead bridge just next to PIE along bedok area, i came across a small flowering syzygium tree. was surprised at the number of butterflies, and types, feeding on the flowers in such an urban area. so ran back and got my camera out.

there were 4 copper flash feeding on the flowers. this one had lost its tail. unfortunately the tree was very high and i could only shoot from the overhead bridge and so had access to only a small portion of the tree. most of the pristine ones were out of reach.

a few common tits were also present. this male decided to sun itself and puddle on my leg after feeding.

a lone peacock royal was very engrossed in feeding and kept very still throughout. i managed some open wing shots, but not at nice angles. still, the blue is amazing.

i was absolutely stunned when a club silverline came to feed. i never would have expected this species to be found outside my home along a busy highway. it remained too far to shoot but for record purposes, i shot it anyway.

Nice record of the species around the eastern side of Singapore, Lemon. Would be interesting to know where their main hangout is.

The bridge is next to a park connector with some patchea of green undeveloped areas. The nearest park would be bedok reservoir. Most of them are common species but the club silver line was a surprise.

By interesting ground, you mean on top of an overhead bridge then yes, interesting. Hehehe

That's good. And the King Crow probably came from the Pasir Ris mangrove area. The Club Silverline's "HQ" is probably Tampines EcoGreen where there is a colony of them and the Long-Banded Silverline sharing that location. :)

Probably. I do see king crows occasionally. There are some stray ping pong trees here.

King crows are def found in bedok area, there was one laying eggs on a pongpong tree in my (coming to be former) workplace.

the trees at PRP are far from flowering. probably 2 weeks more. The flower buds just appeared.
