I found this Potanthus hiding in a 2007 file. I believe it is Potanthus pamela (no hindwing spot in space 7, which only leaves two species), which is quite uncommon. I have no doubt I will be advised if I am wrong, but I hate this genus.

Thankfully you have a male here.

The 2 species P. rectifasciatus & pamela are unique in having a large brand from vein 1b to 4 on the forewing.
( All other species has a small obscure brand at vein ib.)

Zooming in, a large broad dark grey brand can be seen in space 1b, 2, & part of 3 (ie. vein 1b to vein 4). The dark grey separates it from the browner ground colour.

Generally the male P. rectifasciatus have the forewing band narrower & straighter. (rectifasciatus= straight-banded.)
Also in C&P4 the upper arm of the cellular band is longer in rectifasciatus.
(Not sure if this feature is consistent for ID.)

P. rectifasciatus is much the commoner of the two, but this looks to be P. pamela.
