Any idea what is its name?

Khew and Federick should know this ......it was on this flower that they shot the Silver Royal some years back.

This is another species of Syzygium is in bloom, this is different from those in Pair Ris Park and Upper Seletar Reservoir , this species is found on the southern ridges.

Syzygium zeylanicum? Compare yours against the pics at the Plant Observatory site (http://www.natureloveyou.sg/Syzygium%20zeylanicum/Main.html). Similar?

Chng, Loke, Bobby and I were at that location yesterday too. Tall trees, and too high up to shoot. Can only see and drool at the butts. There was another location where the trees are lower, but none as good as that time when we shot the Silver Royal. That tree at that location is gone now. :-(

Sunny's other shot of the Chocolate Pansy was shot at the flowers of this tree.
