Today in the Upper Seletar Jungle, encountered a hairstreak which I believe is a Rapala. I could not take a good shot of this butterfly but I will post 2 photos of it. I cannot tell what color the upperside was. The very large black spot on the hindwing underside tornal area is conspicuous. With these photos, will it be possible to identify that this is the Indigo Flash?

Hi Yano ,

It is indeed the The Cornelian (Deudorix epijarbas cinnabarus)

Refer here for an article on the species:

Dear Sunny,
Many thanks for your prompt and decisive responce.
I checked the Fleming and found that it has a large tornal lobe, which was not clear in the photos shown in the Field Guide.
Although the poor quality of the photos, its a new addition to my collection of Singapore butterflies.
