Found this skipper zipping around when I visited the Metallic Caerulean site.

Dr Seow, please assist in providing an ID. Small Branded Swift?

These "lil' brown jobs" are often baffling.

Since we're getting Seow to help here, I'll jump in your thread and post something that a friend shot recently, of all places, at Dhoby Ghaut MRT area! ;P

The 1st one is P. mathias.
Usual spots; brand on forewing; grey shaded underside.

The 2nd is another Parnara spp. Looks like P. apostata.
All the spots matches.

P. bada have a golden sheen.

P. ganga is slightly lighter. Usually there is a white cell spot.
The spot in space 3 is usually rectangular, not a square as seen here.

TL Seow:cheers:

PS I did a comparison with Federick's P. gangahere.

It have brown shading on the forewing and body.

Looks like we do have two new species to report and both coincidentally in the Parnara genus. I'll get the final feedback from Dr Kirton on these two, and we'll announce species #302 and #303 in the blog soon.
