Found this skipper in USR, at first it looked like a polytremis lubricans ( contiguous swift ), but the spots do not match and the antenna club looks strange ... ...

The red things at the tip of the right antennae does not appeared to be part of the structure , the tip of the antennae can be seen behind it in pic 1 .

If it is part of the antennae , the left side should have a similar structure.

It appears to be a foreign object .

It is a female Contiguous Swift.
The orange tip is the apiculus bending outwards.

The underside hindwing is dull ochreous brown with 5 spots in space 2.3, 4, 5& 6.(Male have a rich brown colour.)

Note great similarities with the Conjoined Swift female.
The sizes of the spots are variable and the hindwing cell spot may not be present in Pelopidas.

Two features Ided this as Contiguous Swift female.
1. The upper cellspot is an inverted triangle.
2. The postdiscal spot in space 4 is very small whereas in the Conjoined Swift it is larger. (Compare the size decrease from space 2, to 3 & 4.)

Thanks Uncle Seow. :grin2:

The thing that really made me think it was different was the shape of one hyaline spots.
But if you say it is a contiguous swift then I believe you.
The hyaline spot shape could be variable after all.

The shape of the spot (in space 3) is inmaterial, but actually this one is quite similar to most Contiguous Swifts, if you compare the images on the checklist.
