This morning I thought a bird was trying to fly in to the house, but it turned out to be a huge butterfly. The dogs were chasing it, so it was hard to get a good shot of this huge thing. Was about the size of my hand. Unfortunately I lost sight of it :-( It reminded me of a Lycaenidae but it was a hundred times bigger.

That is a moth. This one should be seasonal in Singapore.:)

That looks like the Lyssa zampa

Yes, that's a Lyssa zampa the "swallowtail moth" that is seasonally common in Singapore.

Thanks very much for the ID! Any idea if this one is night or day active? I found out that the larvae feed on Endospermum species and there are some of them around. Will keep an eye on them!

This is one of the few species that are active both day and night.:)
