I intend to list down the butterflies sighted in Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia. This thread will be updated from time to time. Feel free to correct my identification on the following butts.

Nice photos. It is interesting to see the Yamfly shot with the ants.

It could be due to heavy network traffic or the image source/server was busy at that moment. The browser will not load the images after timeout :cheers:

Besides the dark marginal & submarginal bands J. malaccanus have three complete bands (post-basal, discal, & postdiscal) on the hindwing.

This is either celeno, pura or zebra. J. celeno may be ruled out because the white striae are fairly well-aligned.

This individual is unsual in that the submarginal striae on the forewing are strongly blue-tinged. This is not normally seen in J. pura and suggest the correct ID may be J. zebra. Unfortunately there are no pic for comparison.

A lot of things to learn about butterflies. Much harder than identifying birds. phewwww....
