The species Baron (Euthalia aconthea gurda) was quite common in the location that we were shooting at Ubin today. When I was processing the shots, it would be of interest to all of us to note that the forewing spots of the female are very variable, with spots in spaces 1b, 2, 3 and in some individuals, none at all!
So take note when you encounter these species and when you see the spots. The first individual caused me to take a 2nd look again as I'd thought it was initially something new. But looking at my records of the shots of the females of this species, it appears that they are just very variable.
