It looks like the rains have finally ceased. Unfortunately, whilst it is now sunny on the coast, as soon as one goes inland, into the hills, as I did today, the clouds appear, and seem to follow me wherever I go!

A couple of shots of non-Singaporean butts.

1) Chersonesia intermedia rahrioides - Indian Red Maplet
2) Pareronia anais anais, male - Common Wanderer. This species never seems to fully open its wings unfortunately. This is a far as it goes!

Nice, Les. It is too bad that the Wanderer is not more cooperative. Pastel blue is such an odd colour for a Pierid.

The Pierids seem to open only partially when resting. Seldom see them open fully flat like many of the Nymphalids. Les shot the different species from the more commoner P. valeria that is found on the southern parts of Malaysia.

The last couple of times I encountered the male Wanderer (http://www.butterflycircle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10290&) it seems to open its wings more whilst feeding.
