mystery blue

I thought it was a cycad blue but am told this is another mystery blue. Saw it at the botanic gardens visitor centre.

You were right the first time. It's a Cycad Blue as far as I can see. The black spots on this species' hindwing can be variable, and in extreme cases appear as a bar instead of spots!

Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd shots of the Cycad Blue (http://www.butterflycircle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9609&) that Bobby and I encountered at MOG not too long ago. You'd think that those two were also different species!

This is one species that has high variability in its markings.
