    The upperside of the male Banded Royal is even more spectacular with its iridescent blue colour. The female is, like many other Lycaenids, brown and drab. The species that Sunny shot above has almost similar upperside colours in both sexes.

    That's something intriguing here. Pisuth's plates show both male and female having three distinct pairs of tails. Whereas C&P4 indicates that the male has tails at veins 2 & 3 only, whilst the female has an additional tail at vein 4.

    Seow, can help shed some light on this?

    Pisuth got it wrong. The males are females, and this was listed in the 19 page errata he has provided.
