Genus Niphanda in Thailand

Genus Niphanda in Thailand is present with 3 species: Niphanda cymbia cymbia, Niphanda tessellata tessellata and Niphanda asialis.

My captures, if the ID is correct, are:



The White-banded Pierrot ♀ - Niphanda asialis


The Small Pointed Pierrot - Niphanda cymbia cymbia



A new catch, from Chiang Dao, very similar to N.asialis:



Niphanda sp.


But similarities with N.tessellata too:

3rd is correct for N. tessellata.
FW marginal spots in sapce 2 & space 6(apex) black.
HW similarly marginal spots in space 2 & 6 black.
HW base of space 7 with a rounded spot instead of the streak in N. asialis.
