    Kurt ,

Andrew and Adeline sent their regards!

Yes ! We managed to see the Rafflesia, though not as nice as the one you saw. This one was facing downwards. Nevertheless , we take what is a given and make the most of it.

With Ellen shouting @#%$3 every few steps and screaming Lea....ches!!! The leeches within 10 km could hear us and they were all heading our way..... plenty of them . Only casualty is my daughter who was decorated with two leeches .........she din heed my advice wearing short T , so one in front on the tummy and the other at the back !

The Trek..... Pengz! the last 100 meters was almost 70 degree incline...

The Rafflesia on top of the hill with Urban Flowers..

Back at Adeline Rest House ...Lunch was served in style.....our lunch carrier.

    Yummy Adeline Fried Rice

    With complimentary durian dessert

Sunny, you are teasing us, one shot at a time! These are fantastic photos, I love the second Trogonoptera, and I have not seen that Jungle Glory before.

I have wanted to go back to that area ever since LC took me there 2 years ago, and I now have my map out looking for a second visit. Could you PM me with details of the guest house you stayed at. What is the weather like in July?

Nice shot of the Bassarona. They prefer to lurk in the shady areas like the Archdukes, this one looks like its out in the open.

You're making Sunny sound like Rose Chan. (Only people who are around our age group in Asia would know what I'm talking about)

Khew's favorite strip teaser in the 70smust be Rose Chan who was from Ipoh if I am not mistaken.

    Les,

I have a folio with all the information pertaining to accommodation, routes to the various places, and also locations and timing of some of the species .Will PM or email you these infor when I get back to my PC at home.

    Aaron ,

The Rafflesia feel leathery on touch , the species at Ulu Gerok does not emit an offensive smell, according to our orang asli kaka , the cannon-ball-like bud takes 9 months to mature on the vine , and the flower last for just 3-4 days.

Our english educate Iban friend Andrew at the Guest house said for places like Sabah and Sarawak , people trek for days just to see this flower. At Ulu Gerok it takes just up to 2 hours to reach the site.

    cheers!
