    Default Erebus ephesperis

While on a night walk, we saw a whole lot of eyeshine from a fishtail palm with a messy robe of vines. The eyes turned out to be those of large moths, numbering perhaps a dozen or more.

Jac (husky) narrowed down the ID to Erebus ephesperis based on: http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-15...rebini_1_3.php

Host plant is said to be Smilax, and I have seen the moth at both Lower Peirce and Venus Drive.

Butterfly dogs don't like baths. They only like to puddle... in their own pee!
