    The moth is

    Mocis undata

    Noctuidae, Catocalinae

very common and widespread throughout S, S.E. and E. Asia and into Australasia.

    ------

The larva looks a little like one of the Orgyia species, but might also be an Arctornis species (a diverse group as larvae, but almost all satiny white as adults and hellishly difficult to tell apart).
    Lymantriidae.

    cheers,

    Roger.
