    The shape of the cat n its head made me think of a skipper. Furthermore, the foodplant is also typical of skippers, contradicting with wat Mr Khew said.

    Notodontidae

    could be somewhere near Turnaca

    The BMNH HOSTS database list members of this genus as feeding on palms, and Turnaca stigmatica occurs in peninsular Malaysia, so probably also in Singapore.
