This moth looks like an arctiid n could b poisonous. It won't b so daring as to do that if it weren't.

Lymantriidae.
The illustration in Moths of Borneo (pt 5) is overexposed and the specimen rather worn, so the black patterning is difficult to make out, especially when compared against this clear photo of a fresh specimen!
As Aaron noted, probably poisonous (hence the aposematic colour pattern and blatant posture).

Sorry that I neglected to add that this one was shot along the trails to the Poring Hot Springs near Mount Kinabalu. Hence it is a Sabahan moth.![]()
