    Default Moth Cat ID

Hi, this is a repeat post from the 'early stages and host plants' forum. Figured this cat probably comes from a moth, can anyone ID it?

Also, are these kinds of cats likely to require special conditions to pupate? i.e. soil, etc.

    Thanks!

don't know genus / species, but this looks as though it's a catocaline noctuid (3 pairs of prolegs). some leaf litter should be sufficient for pupation, though if you give the option of a little soil, this might be preferred.

    Please keep us posted.

    cheers,

    Roger.
