    Default Testing 100mm + 2x

Went to TPTP to test out my Tokina 100mm macro with a 2X Kenko Teleconvertor. Plenty of butt activities with a couple of PR and lots of skippers. This particular skipper, too large to be a dartlet caught my eye.

Is this the Cephrenes acalle niasicus?
The auto focus of the camera seems to work well with the setup in good lighting. Will test this setup in the forest when the opportunity arise.

Probably not a Cephrenes. Looks more like a Telicota from the markings. The male Cephrenes has sharper markings and forewings. The typical female is more purple than this.

Thanks SK. This butt is twice the size of the dartlet. Here's another view, part of the top side.

Yes, the Telicota are generally about twice the size of the Potanthus and Oriens spp.

The lens combo seems to give a nice 3D effect to the depth of field.
