    Default Couple of moths

Some of the moths from my collection.

    Macroglossum stellatarum? (Hummingbird Hawkmoth)

    Not sure of the specie

Hope some moth experts can verify.
    Thanks

    Hi Richard,

The Macroglossum is not stelletarum - this species has the whole hindwing suffused with a dull orange-brown. The species in your photo is one from a group of species that are very difficult to separate in the field - M. heliophila, M. variegatum and M. pyrrhosticta.

The geometrid moth is not any easier. It looks close to several boarmiid (Ennominae) genera, somewhere near Myrioblepharia.

    hope this helps a little,

    cheers,

    Roger.
