Butterfly not recorded in my book.

I wonder if anyone could recognise a butterfly or maybe a moth, I have spotted in my garden in North Warwickshire. I was not able to catch a photograph but it was a small butterfly about 2.5cm wing span. It was dark brown all over with tiny yellow spots evenly distributed all the way across.

Thanks for the reply TLSeow. I have been in touch with The Wildlife trust. I am afraid my butterfly is nothing like the Speckled Wood. I'll keep an eye open in case it comes back and being prepared hopefully get a photo I can post.
