    Default Tajuria deudorix ingeni

Both Tajuria mantra & deudorix are very similar.

Tajuria deudorix is recorded in Singapore .
It is so similar to T. mantra that it have probably been overlooked.
In southern Thailand it seems to be the commoner species.

A recent observation Dec 14 2022, Kent Ridge Park is very likely this species.

This image is also correct for Tajuria deudorix.

I took this pic back in 2006 at TBHP. The black bars in HW spaces 2 and 3 are straight and detached.
Do you think it is a Tajuria deudorix?

Yes. This is definitely Tajuria deudorix ingeni. Female. Note long palps.
The statement that the FW submarginal fascia is always near the margin is incorrect.
This is variable as seen in Yutaka's website.

I will need to correct that.

    Dear Doctor Seow,

I am now viewing some inat of tajuria mantra in Singapore
Would the following observation be tajuria deudorix base on the black bar is straight and detached?

2 - https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/85070919 This one the V seems to fit deudorix the best

Of the three only 2 is Tajuria deudorix.
    https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/85070919
In particular it is well to see the black bar in the upper space 3. It is very straight & fully detached.
This observation is also in Kent Ridge Park, indicating a small colony there.

The other two observations have curvatures in both black bars in space 2 & 3.

It may not be a coincidence that all images of T. deudorix are brown, no grey form being seen.

    Dear Doctor Seow,

I was scrolling through the forum and also saw a older forum post suggesting the life cycle of tajuria deudorix is completed in Singapore. Is there more information on what hostplant it was utilizing?

The hostplants of T. deudorix ingeni were mistletoes, Dendrophthoe & Scurrula.

    Dendrophthoe pentandra.

    Dr Seow,

Based on your sketches, the slightly curved bars in spaces 2/3 of the hindwings, would this key out to be T. mantra?

I feel that this would be T. mantra, the slightly curved bar and the "V shape" below the space 2/3 seems rather sharp
