    Dear Dr Seow,
    Please help with the ID, is this Caltoris cormasa?

    Yes, it is a female Caltoris cormasa.

    1. Usually with a strong reddish tone.
    2. Female often with 3 subapical spots; spots usually yellowish.
    3. FW upper cellspot tiny or absent.
    The colouration is very variable & confusing in photos.

    Caltoris bromus.
    1. FW with two normal cellspot although the upper one is smaller. Spots whitish. Subapical spots often two.
    2. Underside dark brown with ochreous scalings.
    3. Female underside HW usually with 1- 2 spots in space 2 & 3.

    No red tone. Underside HW dark chocolate brown.
