    Default ID request of Hasora

Dear Dr. Seow sir, Greetings from India.

I have doubts regarding the ids of species under the genus Hasora and it will be a great help if you guide in their proper identification.

Please check the following images which I though is Hsora chromus but got confused with Hasora vitta because of the small sub-apical spot? (specially image 2 and 3).

The first one however is Hasora chromus?

They are all correctly Hasora chromus.

I can't remember where this statement about H. chromus not having a subapical spot originate, but it is not true as there are many examples with FW subapical spot present.

    Hasora chromus.
    Underside dull purple brown.
HW band relatively narrow ,its inner margin irregular & notched by several indentations; outer margin diffuse.
HW marginal white line extending obscurely to past vein 6.

    Hasora vitta indica.
Almost always a FH subapical spot 6 is present.
HW band typical narrow at the bottom & widens in the upper half, the inner margin regular & sharp, the outer margin diffuse.
HW marginal white line distinct from tornus to vein 3.

    Hasora taminatus bhavara.
    FW subapical spot absent.
Underside dull steely blue , purplish when worn.
HW band relatively narrow ,inner margin relatively smooth, & outer margin fairly sharp.
HW white marginal line relatively short.
