Id help for Hawk moths

All these Eupanacra & Macroglossum observed from different location in Tripura, Northeast India...

Your help in identification will be highly appreciated....

1. Eupanacra variolosa.
FW with a dark basal area the formed by the antemedial runs obliquely from costa to the dark discal spot & back to base.
The medial is flanked by a strong pale wavy band

2, E. mydon.
The markings are as for this spwcies.
There is a dark tornal patch. Next to it the medial runs diffusely & obliquely to the costa.

3, E. regularis.
The FW margi is angulated near the apex.
FW base with a diffuse patch resembling varilosabut less define with a band running towards the the discal spot.

E. automedon lack this basal patch.

4. Eupanacra elegantulus.
This resembles E. mydon with markings enhanced & well contrasted.
The abdomen have a row of large spots on the side.

5. Macroglossum troglodytus( formerly as M. insipida )

This & M. neotroglodytus are near identical.
M. neotrogldytus is stated to a duller grey ground colour.
The only noticeable difference is in M. trigldytus the curved antemedial band is almost uniformly dar.
In M. neotriglodytus the antemedial band is edged dark on its inner margin.

6. Macroglossum belis.

The HW have aseries of gold spots on the side mainly segment 2 & 3.

A similar species M. vacillans have gold spot to segment 4 ,below at segment 5 a black band encircle the abdomen
This species does not occur in India.

7. Mcroglossum troglodytus.
Note the antemedial curved band is uniformly dark.

8. Uncertain Probably M. neotroglodytus.

The markings are dull & uncontrasted.
The curved antemedial band is darker on its inner (anterioir) edge.


9. Looks to be M. troglodytus.
Overly dark but the curved antemedial band is uniformly dark.


10. M. corythus.
Markings relatively light but antemedial band is straight from costa to dorsum.

Judging from this website 8 should be correct as Macroglossum neotroglodytus.
