    Default ID requested for Telicota sp.

    Dear Sir,
    I am sending one Telicota species for ID purpose. Specimen captured from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Date: 09-01-2021.

    Both are Telicota bambusae.

    T. bambusae . Small FW 15mm.
    Male brand straight in the black space ; Base of space 2 may or may not have orange scales. Spots 4 & 5 equal.

    Telicota colon. Small .FW 15mm.
    Male brand placed near inner margin of black space , arcuate ; base of space 2 always orange.
    Spots of discal band with long vein-stripes. Spot 4 & 5 may be distorted & staggered out from spot 3.

    Telicota besta ;Large FW 17mm.
    Male brand set nearer the inner margin of black space, arcuate .
    Base of space 2 always orange.

    Telicota linna .Large FW 18mm.
    Male brand set in middle of black space . fairly straight . Base of space 2 usually black.
    FW band appear relatively narrow, the spots without spikes.

    Telicota ohara. Large. FW 18mm.
    Male brand very narrow, straight near the outer margin of black space; base of space 2 black.
