At Ubin yesterday, the elusive Common Jay decided to play hide-and-seek with us again, at the usual location. None of us got a good shot of it, since it was zipping to and fro, and stopped in the most inaccessible locations. Here's a record shot of it.
Interestingly, this species is relatively common in Malaysia, and in the photo below of several Papilionidae puddling, you can see a Common Jay (extreme left) and a Blue Jay, together with a Common Bluebottle and several Five Bar Swordtails.
