ID need scrutiny...
Hello Seow sir,
I hope everything is going well and you are healthy and fine as always.
Just wanted to know is there any chance of the following species to be J. caeruleus? Or is it Jamides elpis??
The reason behind my suspect is,
1. FW lowest basal striae seems hangs free. (not sure up to what extent).
2. Does the white striae grey shaded and sullied as you always refer?

Your suggestions and advice needed.
Thank you.

I realized later that the UNH basal striae are not aligned. So, perhaps Jamides elpis.
Still I need your suggestions and advice.
Jamides elpis pseudelpis. Male.
There is much confusion with the two species because of individual variations.
In India DSF forms cause further confusion.
Jamides elpis pseudelpis.
Male pale whitish blue on the HW, deeper blue on the FW with black border a thread.
Underisde with the bands not contrasting with the ground colour.
UnF postdiscal band ,last stria attached to inner end, rarely may be free hanging as in J. caeruleus.
HW with the 2nd stria in space 7 typically nearer to the 2nd stria in the cell, variable.
Male Thailand.

J. caeruleus in India.
The markings are irregular suggesting a DSF.
FW postdiscal last stria hangs free.
HW 2nd stria in space 7 much nearer the 3rd stria in the cell.
UpH blue much deeper tha in J. elpis male.
