Dear Dr. Seow, a question stands in my mind regarding the existence of the two subspecies of Eurema simulatrix in India.

The present listed subspecies are -

1. Eurema simulatrix sarinoides Fruhstorfer, 1910

2. Eurema simulatrix grandis Moore, [1907]

These are considered as two separate subspecies in India under the following:

1. https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/sp...ema-simulatrix (may be not updated)

2. A SYNOPTIC CATALOGUE OF THE BUTTERFLIES OF INDIA by K. Varshney & Peter Smetacek.

Is the existence of these two subspecies correct, or they are considered as synonyms of one another?

Here are two images from Meghalaya that needs your kind scrutiny.

1. Eurema simulatrix grandis? (Type locality Khasi Hills)

2. Eurema simulatrix sarinoides? (Type locality Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya)

Thank you in advance.
