Thread: Jamides elpis or J. alecto from s Thailand?

    Here is another individual from Phang-nga province. This image shows rather thin striae on the base of the hindwing, but maybe is just a rather thin alecto.

    Looking at various images on the web one thing I notice, in general (not consistently) is that the distance between the basal two pairs on striae on the costal edge of the hindwing appears to average greater in elpis (as shown in this image).

    Thoughts?

    This is Jamides ferrari evansi which is very rare. Only virgulatus and ferrari have the unbroken subbasal striae on the hindwing but this cannot be virgulatus. Even though there's an extra orange streak i'm still very confident this is ferrari
