    Dear Dr Seow,

These butterflies were sighted in Pulau Ubin. Would greatly appreciate your help to ID them. Thanks!

    1. Telicota colon female.

The female Telicota can be more confusing than the male.

The male T. colon have distinctive spots in a step ladder arrangement.

Most females follow this closely .

Spot 4 is often shaped like a truncated pyramid.
In this case the stepladder is less obvious ,but spot 4 is typical.

The female of T. besta is similar but spot 4 & 5 are rectangular.

The female of T. linna do not have the HW veins dark-dusted & the underparts whiter.

The female T. augias is more orangey & thw HW band is poorly contrasted.

    2 & 3 Jamides bochus.
Very easily confused with Nacaduba spp. but HW white stria forms a sharp spike near inner margin.

    Default Elymnias ID please

    Dear Dr Seow,

Is this a variation of the Common Palmfly without the white spot or a Pointed Palmfly please? It was shot in Pulau Ubin.
